Mat Rempit

(THE STAR) - Many people detest the Mat Rempit because of crimes associated with this group of bikers, and people are now incensed as they are getting more brazen.

Just last Thursday, some 20 Mat Rempit surrounded Kattryn Eng’s 23-year-old daughter, who is deaf and mute, at a petrol kiosk in Subang Jaya at 7am.

They slapped and kicked her daughter before running off with her bag, in the presence of other patrons and attendants.

“My daughter could not even call for help. I am really devastated that such an incident could happen. When my husband brought my daughter to the police station, there were two other parties making similar reports,” said Eng, 57, a travel agent. (Read Eng’s account in the letters page – N30.)

She considers the Mat Rempit a “dangerous nuisance” and insisted that police act before this group became even more daring.

Student T. Selvesvaran, 21, encountered a group of 20 Mat Rempit in Shah Alam six months ago.

“I was sending my friend home. While we were talking in the car, a man on a bike rode past. We thought nothing of it until a few minutes later, when he returned and shouted at me kau keluar sekarang! kalau tak, kau tengok! (come out now or else),” said Selvesvaran.

He immediately started his car to drive away and while doing so, grew alarmed as some 20 motorcyclists joined the man.

They began to hurl rocks as they chased after him.

Selvesvaran drove away as fast as he could and was thankful the Mat Rempit stopped giving chase after a while.

He did not report the matter to the police because he was fearful of retaliation by the group.

Business development executive Daniel Tan, 28, no longer parks by the roadside after encountering a group of menacing Mat Rempit two years ago.

“I parked my car at Old Klang Road early in the morning and got out for some fresh air after a night out with friends.

“A group of six men then approached the car. I thought they wanted to help me, but instead they attacked me without warning.”

One of them hit him on the head with a helmet while the rest started kicking him once he fell.

He added that the Mat Rempit even attempted to steal his car but failed when one of his friends, who was asleep in the car, woke up and fought back.

Tan quickly got into the car and drove away. The motorcyclists chased them for a while before giving up.

Tan needed seven stitches on the head. However, he did not lodge a police report because he doubted the police could do much.

Other recent cases of Mat Rempit attacks include the assault on a Filipina in Kelana Jaya by 15 rogue bikers and another in Kuala Lumpur where at least 40 of them attacked a housewife and her son.

Guys,

I saw this article in Malaysia Today website (mt.m2day.org) which is famous for having Raja Petra Kamarudin as its main blogger.

I am not shocked to see news report involving Mat Rempit ( I prefer called them CELAKA) in our beloved land. We all know they had been ruling the road with their kapcai motorcycle since 70's smthing. What make me shocked to hell is the way they attacking and innoncent OKU just for her handbag. Imagine 30+ bastards, with their old, kapcai motorcycle, circling a young girl which is deaf and mute, they slapped her before snatching her handbag. Tell me, should not I called them BASTARDS ?

They are getting way more dangerous nowadays. Even I will be alerted every time a gang of motor stopped nearby my tuition center at Taman Cemara. They way they rode on the road, show us their brainless activity. They just loitering and wandering around, "usik" some other Bohsia, and doing all those stupid stunts which they think cool.

It really amazed most of the Malaysians if not all, we still unable take serious action against them. Try asking the new cabinet, who will dare to say Malaysians are living in terror at night with those devils racing on the road in almost all across the nation. They snatch, they rape, they assault anything or anyone who try to block them from doing their STUPID hobby.

Just a week ago, a group of those rascals snatch a handphone from an ex-Sin Min guy which is in the same batch with us but do not want his name to be identified for safety reasons. Then, the night after the first incident, a Chinese lady about 2 or 3 years older than me, was assaulted by those Mat Rempit just few metres in front of my shop. Luckily, a few young man and I quickly threw stones and shouted them to leave the girl alone. The poor lady does not lost her belonging, but still in shocked to be assaulted that way. She kept on crying. Imagine this happen to our mother, sister, friends, wife or daughters.

It simply amaze me to know that "Mat Rempit" is put under "Malaysian Culture" in Wikipedia. This is a BIG slap on every Malaysian. I do not know since when the article is posted up there, but I think we should put a full stop at this humilation. This will severely hurt others impressions on us. I do believe, like many other Malaysians, goverment should take action against them and stop them from menacing on the road again.

What is the main culprit behind these problem? Frankly speaking, I think this is all about the teachings in home. Poverty is not a reason, as this endemic even spread to some Dato's children. Many of them do not been teached or received a correct childhood education and proper love since they were young. They start with doing "wheelie" on their bicycle, lepak, and smoking cigarettes even in primary school. Even when their parents or others older siblings saw these act, they do not give them a stern warning and correct them fast. Some of them even praise thosebrave but damn stupid "daredevils" for those acts. And that makes them changed into more violent Mat Rempit. Menacing every road, haunting every man, they are acting like the goverment are building the road for them to race every early morning. Is this the Malaysia we proud for?

I am just 17, I do not spend time long enough to know exactly why this happen, but I do spend enough time long enough to know this should stop. The police should have doing more operation to bust them and send them to face the justice in court. The police may joint force with army unit as this problem are getting worse every day. We must not wait no longer. They do not show any respect to us, to the Police, to the justice. The parliament must make an act against these young Malaysians.

Now, let me make a very honest declaration: I have ZERO tolerance for Mat Rempit (a capital ‘zero’) That’s how I feel whenever the subject of these illegal motorcycle racers (colloquially known as Mat Rempit) is brought up.

If they were lined up to face the firing squad, I don’t mind to volunteer to pull the trigger. To me, these people are a criminal of sort. They are parasites. Their idea of fun is having pleasure on public roads and they have no qualms if others are killed as a result of their having fun.

Tolerate no more. Fed up with all their menace. It just amaze me once again to see this

Khairy Jamaluddin and Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim from Putera UMNO attempt to rebrand "Mat Rempits" as "Mat Cemerlang". The suggestion by Khairy that "Mat Rempits" should become the "Eyes and Ears" for the Malaysian Police Force.

Isn't it amazing to know a politicians who you are voting ( I do not vote for him ) to say this in the public? I am speechless.

Hope for better Malaysia every time woke up from sleep.

THE AUDACITY OF HOPE

Today is a very sad day to know those from our school all have failed to obtain the Public Service Department scholarship to do engineering in Japan. I offer my deepest sympathy to them. I once read about an Indian girl who do well in her SPM yet failed to get any of the scholarship in a blog quite months ago. Though felt pity for her, but I quickly forget the incident. But when my good friends sent me SMS saying that they failed to get the scholarship, its really been a mixed feeling in my heart. I am feeling angry as they all are good students in the school, both in academics and co-curriculum, but were not given a chance to obtain the scholarship for overseas study for UNKNOWN reasons. I do not know how they judge on them, but I swear, this will not affect their determination for them to achieve sucesses in their life. They are dilligent and proactive students which I strongly believe will cope well and could compete with those westerners.I am feeling sad as they are the human capital (modal insan) that our country really needs to acheive the 2020 Vision. Is they any different from a Malay human capital with a Chinese human capital? Is there any different from a Chinese human capital with Indian human capital? We should not differentiate these bright students by the colour of the skin. We all are the same. I love the song " Welcome to wherever you are " sang by Bon Jovi because the beautiful lyrics. Look at this line :

Maybe we're all different
But we're still the same
We all got the blood of Eden running to our veins

I am a Muslim and I know that God does not judge His creation by the colour of the skin or by the races, but He judge on us by our faith deep inside our heart. Others teaching had been the same too. So why we should divide ourselves with an invisible barrier which DO NOT and WILL NOT bring any benefits to us and our beloved nation. We are in the year 2009. no longer in 1959. This is the time for us to built bridges. This is the time for us to destroy those barrier. This is the time for us to stand up and shout out loud : THIS IS OUR BELOVED COUNTRY!!

Most of them love this country and willing to help to improve Malaysia, but the way they been treated make them changed their mind. I wrote this not for inciting any racial tensions or hatred.I wrote this to tell everyone that we need a bold change before even we could dream standing as tall as Singapore or Japan. I do not mind if I will not be given the PSD scholarship too if it is given to a young Malaysian who is deserved it more than me. I will not feel good to see someone much better than me like Kim Ming and Zhe Sheng were not awarded the scholarship while I get it.

I hope others will understand what I try to say here. I am not a political blogger. I am not a member of any political movement. I am just an ordinary citizens who dreamt of a better future for my country.

I willing to offer my deepest apologise if there is anyone who feel angry to read this. I just writing what in my mind. I rhope the best of luck for those 5 students. May God bless you all. Stay strong.

( I am not good in English. Sorry for the grammatical error. Thank you)

I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU

I'll be there for you

I guess this time you're really leaving

I heard your suitcase say goodbye

And as my broken heart lies bleeding

You say true love it's suicide

You say you're cried a thousand rivers

And now you're swimming for the shore

You left me drowning in my tears

And you won't save me anymore

Now I'm praying to God you'll give me

one more chance, girl

I'll be there for you

These five words I swear to you

When you breathe I want to be the air for you

I'll be there for you

I'd live and I'd die for you

Steal the sun from the sky for you

Words can't say what a love can do

I'll be there for you

I know you know we've had some good times

Now they have their own hiding place

I can promise you tomorrow

But I can't buy back yesterday

And Baby you know my hands are dirty

But I wanted to be your valentine

I'll be the water when you get thirsty, baby

When you get drunk, I'll be the wine

I'll be there for you

These five words I swear to you

When you breathe I want to be the air for you

I'll be there for you

I'd live and I'd die for you

Steal the sun from the sky for you

Words can't say what a love can do

I'll be there for you

And I wasn't there when you were happy

I wasn't there when you were down I

didn't mean to miss your birthday, baby

I wish I'd seen you blow those candles out

I'll be there for you

These five words I swear to you

When you breathe I want to be the air for you

I'll be there for you I'd live and I'd die for you

Steal the sun from the sky for you

Words can't say what a love can do

I'll be there for you

I'll be there for you

LATEST NEWS

LATEST NEWS FROM OUR SCHOOL

Still remember the sex maniac who haunt every girl every morning? He came back and assault another two victims today morning. One of the witness I had a chance to interview with told that the young male hug the girl from behind at 2 entrance into our school. This is extremely shocking. Imagine this devil could run away without being caught everytime he does this beastly act. I had an encounter with this rascal himself last year. Though the teachers act swiftly, he managed to escaped from us. What had happens with our society? Many this kind of devilish acts occured throughout the nation everyday. The innoncent victims surely will have both physical and mental trauma after this happened on them. Hope they will forget this. Pray that this incident will not occur again. Filled with anger everytime this case occur in our school. Really wish to strangle and kill this horrible monster.

Philosophy of a pair of eye...

Im not a philosopher but try read what I try to write below...

Have you any clue about any relationship between our right eye and our left eye? Most of us will not bother to spend even a second to give it a thought.

They blink together without any order from your brain,

They also move together ( hell, can you use your right eye to view the things on your right side while your left eye viewing the other side at the SAME time???)

They even cry together each time you watching the Titanic or other romance movie..

They view things toghether and send the images for your brain to interpret since you first open your eye in the womb,

They have their rest together everytime you feel tired and sleepy... (especially Fong Yew's eye, lolz)

And there are many more things they have done together and will be doing the same together again, yet they never see themselves eye-to-eye.....

Isn't it amazing the bonding between them? Friendship should just be like that. Though we may never could noisily be together again like what we had been doing in 2007 and 2008, but let the bonds remain. Some of us have going to college, while some working and SOME got girlfriend ( I'm not perli-ing anyone here..) Lolz. We all have very different dream and hope everyone achieve theirs. Try be more understanding. Do not going out together like the old days does not meant he/she forget about the friends he/she may have. Hope there will be no friction between any group in our class. Do not let the distance divide us.

Good luck.

MAN UTD 3 - ASTON VILLA 2

I think I am the happiest guy on earth when Gabriel Agbonlahor scores the second goal for Villa during the match. I really hope Aston Villa will protect the lead and earned a a famous win over BPL giant, Manchested United FC. There is many Man Utd die hard fans in our class. Still remember the days where Juneu, Eunice and I ( Blues fan ) jeering on Jason and Zhing Yik ( Devil's gang). It was so fun shouting and quarelling bout the matches. Kheng Jie's Newcatle was alwayz been the laughing stock among us. We even saying the Toons army have more physios than the coach. Sirwin is also another football die-hard fan. He even called himself as Steven Gerard everytime during Pj. Ya, he really shoot well from long range. Still remember the days where we always ponteng just to play football on the pitch? We never scared our name been send to the discipline commitee. It's really cool to play with 5.1 eventhough it already time for Add Math subject. We are just daredevils.... The sad thing in our class football club is we never past tru the grup stage in both 2007 and 2008. Lady luck just always smiled on the other side....
Lolz... The best football team in Sin Min? 5.3 (2008) of course...
